The perfect setup for me was to have a bar and lounge area that didn't break any flow.  It works perfectly during parties so my guests can get a drink as they go outside to the pool.  I put some Barcelona chairs with a small footprint in there for seating and a nice hutch for barware and crystal.  The bar is darker in tone but gets a lot of light as it leads outdoors, has big windows, and is open to the kitchen and living room.
